Are my chain rings worn?
Does my large chain ring need replacing? These supposedly have about 10K miles on them. They are DA 7800's. Before I spend the big bucks I need to know all your opinions. Thanks.

They're worn, but not to the point of replacement. Ride them for another 10K miles.

Assuming you have a good chain (not stretched beyond spec) shift into the big ring. Grab the chain at the 3 o'clock position and pull it away from the ring. Can you see air between the tips of the teeth and the chain?
No? Chianring is good.
Way back in the day we had alot of customers ask us about worn chainrigs, this was right when Shimano began profiling teeth for enhanced shifting.

They look a little worn but far from worn out you should be able to get another 10k out of these. Most high end chainrings outlast the bike if not bent.

Keep running it until it skips. And be more diligent about replacing your chain when it has stretched -- this is how a chainring should look when it has LOTS of miles on it:

Start shopping for a new chainring in the mean time..
rule of thumb: 2 chains , new cassette , 2 more chains , new cassette again,
then a new set of chainrings.
YTMV ... your thumbs may vary
