Campy shifter rebuild

Hi all I have a 2009 centaur shifter not escape it the newer design ultra shift it beginning to get soft so I went to order parts and low and behold it appears that campy no longer sells parts for a rebuild. This can't be right does anyone have better info on buying rebuild parts for the new gen campy brifters

Soft shifting? You should check your shifter cable. My cable was fraying inside the shifter body, near the end of the cable. It was only a couple of years old. Finally, on a ride, it wouldn't shift to the largest cogs, and a mile later, broke off. (It's hard to get that short broken end out of the shifter, too!)

I think that you have to get a whole new shifter mechanism, no separate parts are available. But the shifter is supposed to last longer, and not need G spring replacements like the old version.

The soft shifts from a 2009 10 speed ultrashift lever are normal. Campy changed that for 2010, then quit making 10 speed ultrashift levers altogether, for 2011. Campy sells a "major assembly" to repair broken shifters. You would need major assembly number EC-CE100, but you may find it tough to find.

A google search brought up this:

The 2009 started out soft as DaveSSS mentioned. What do you mean by "beginning to get soft " ?

Thanks for the replies it was always soft but recently feels like a friction shifter the motion is set but I can't really feel any click. I ordered the g springs and carrier (from Branford)only to take apart the shifter and realize not what I was expecting my old shifter got done every three years so when I ordered these I figure par for the course the ec-ce110 is no where to be found. Last nigh. I realized the order mistake and searched all night for a fix so I vented on the forum from work I feel a little betrayed after so many years talking bad about the other guy and there throw away parts

You might try disassembling and reassembling - people have found that one of the index detent balls was mis-placed. If that doesn't work you're probably suffering from the original 2009 lever's "soft" cam which was replaced as a running change and briefly available as a replacement part. With those no longer available you'll need a 2010 or newer assembly.

NOS 2010 Veloce Ultrashift levers are still available for $125 including hoods ($30) and cable set ($50) for a net cost of $45 on top of what you'll eventually be spending on wear items. Swap your brake blades; the rest of the shifter is identical to what you have except for the deeper detents in the index cam

(I just got a set for spares to go with my 2010 Centaur Carbon levers).

When those run out you'll need to buy a replacement right assembly for approximately $90.

No idea whether this still applies, but I've fixed soft shifting in a couple of pairs of gen1 Ergos by tweaking the index springs.
