Old Brake Levers to work with V Brakes

I know this may be a silly question

but before I go about putting them on

I was wondering if a set of old old mtb brake lever - Shimano Exage that worked for the old fashioned cantilever brake system from 1991

I need to replace a brake lever on my old mtb,
The MTB has the V brakes,

Would the old brake lever still work with the V Brakes?

I just don't want to take everything off only to find they don't work properly

thanks

CanadianBiker32, The pull ratio is different between cantis and linear pull brakes which requires levers to match either system, so no, not without adding something like a TravelAgent.

V-brakes and Cantis use levers with different cable pulls and are not interchangable if you want them to work properly.
