Old Schwinn freewheel removal
Hello, I have a rear wheel from a schwinn (collegiate?). It has 5 cogs. Markings on it say "Schwinn approved" "made in France model F2". I am having a hard time finding a correct removal tool. I bought a Park FR-4 but it is way too small diameter. Anyone know what I should be looking for ?

Yes, the Bicycle Research CT-3 is the tool you need. It is expensive, but then again, it has been out of production for decades and is a very small niche market. Perhaps your LBS already has one you could use on the rare occasions you need it?

throw that bike away and get one that is worth spending money repairing,

Have your bike shop remove it for whatever ($5-10) they might charge. Problem solved.
