Rim walls ( single, double, triple)

We've all heard of them, but I'm wondering what a "double walled rim" looks like on the inside compared to a single walled rim. Same as triple, I guess.

Thanks!

Probably not what you're thinking.

Imagine taking a hack saw and cutting radially through the rim extrusion. A single wall rim will look like a letter "U". A double wall rim will look like a letter "A".

The most complex and costly to manufacture. Triple wall rims should be the strongest though the extra weight and manufacturing problems might be an effective deterrent for most. These are popular in BMX.
By the way, the webpage above has a nice diagram with the cross sections of different rim profiles: single wall, double wall, triple wall, etc.
