Michelin Airstop MTB tube...

Do I need a michelin tire with that, or will it work with mtb tires of any brand ?

What do you think could possibly be brand-specific about a tube?

There are two kinds of valves, a number of sizes, and various tradeoffs between expense, weight and durability; end of story.

I'll assume you are not trolling but the question was pretty naive. The answer is that tubes are not brand specific and as long as they are the correct size and valve type they will work with any brand tire and rim.

To the OP, think about it this way. The tube is simply a balloon which will inflate to fill the available space in the tire. It's the same as the air bladder in a football. Make sure the size is correct for the tire diameter (ie. 26" or 700c) and reasonably close for width. Then, of course, the valve has to match the rim and/or your pump, ie. Schrader or Presta.
