Aksium Owners... QR question
Hey!
Mavix Aksium (w/QRM bearings).
Do you tighten your QRs any differently than with a cup/cone hub???
Just curious how tight you install them... Lord knows what a "suitably large force" is ?!?!? o.O

All skewers have to be tight, regardless of type of wheel. I make mine about "2 grunts" tight. That is equivalent to a large "ugghh".

I have Aksiums on my Kona PHD, and I always tighten the QRs same as with my C'n'C bikes - I adjust the nut so that the QR lever starts to feel tight when it's 90 degrees to the frame, and then cinch it shut. It's also tight enough to leave a small impression on my palm for a minute or so after closing it. 
I also learned from another poster on here that the bearings in cartridge wheels like these should be adjusted to just remove any play and that's all (no preload like with C'n'C).

This is clearly another opportunity to hate on external cam skewers.
They can't grab as tight as an internal cam QR, and it usually takes more effort too.
If you want a nice QR, Shimano does a quite nice ally internal job, on most of its nicer hubs of recent years; shouldn't be too hard to find at a nice price...
Although I prefer allen head skewers myself.
