Egg Beaters End Cap...

Just installed my new Stainless eggbeaters, works great!
One small problem, I tried to unscrew the end plug on one of the pedals, just to see whats inside (...curiosity killed the cat eh) well even though I was using a big flat screwdriver and being careful, I managed to mangle teh cap a bit. I tried on the other pedal being even more careful, and didnt hurt the cap but coudlnt budge it.... is it supposed to be that hard to get off?
thanks...

it wouldn't move at all.... I assumed given that its soft alu that it wouldnt be in too tight, but I couldnt budge it at all
There's no crossthreading cause this is new from the factory I havnt' got em off at all..
Its not that badly mangled I tihnk i could probably get it off with some careful effort, but I dont wanna torque it much cuase the caps are so soft.....
Im just suprised its as tight as it is... does everyone have this much trouble?

It should just turn. Righty tighty - lefty loosy. I scufed my Candy end cap a little when I re-greased them. Just use a big screw driver and be careful.

weird... hmm maybe its becasue they havent even seen a crnak arm yet... like there needs to be a little load on the body to loosen everything up or something... whatever, I wont touch em until they need a greasing and maybe ill get the rebuild kit w/ extra caps..
