Removing kids bike cranks and replacing chainring

Has anyone had experience with swapping a chain ring on a kids bike?

This is the bike in question:
https://www.raleigh.co.uk/ProductType...1&pt=9&pg=8799

I'm having to do it because the chain ring is bent and no amount of re-bending will get the chain to stay on whilst pedalling. There doesn't seem to be a huge amount of product options online in fact the only thing I've come across is this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/32-TOOTH-C...item5d3f2bf404

And I'm wondering if this will fit.

How do I take the cranks off too? I'm familiar with removing other types of drive train but I'm struggling to find much info for removing this particular type.

Take the non drive side pedal off. Remove nut on crank arm. Remove adjustable cup on crank arm. Remove crank from drive side. Take care to note how parts came off, bearings inside, etc. Not much to a one piece crank.

I not sure if you can replace a chainring alone with that type crank,1 pc crank....I don't think so.

To remove crank, remove ND side pedal, undo the big lockring on the ND side, unscrew bearing cup, fish the crank thru the BB.

It's fairly simple, requires no specialized tools. Rather than type it all out - https://www.sheldonbrown.com/opc.html. Chainrings will indeed be hard to find, but as noted on that page you can get a spider that allows mounting of standard chainrings. The chainring is removed by unscrewing the drive side cone (normal thread). That looks to be about a 40 tooth ring, so try https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Wald-BMX...5794fe9bf#shId Looks like $12 to ship to UK.

Even better if it indeed is 40t - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMX-40T-CH...7#ht_319wt_924

Yes the chainrings for 1 piece cranks can be bought seperately. Best to get one with the same number of teeth, if it is bigger then you need a longer chain, and smaller means you need to cut a few links off the chain.

Thanks for the help. I am going to for that original link I posted as it works out best price and time wise, and just take a few links out of the existing chain.

Since this bike has a rear derailleur you need a chainring that will work with 3/32" chain. Single gear drivetrains are usually made for 1/8" chain.

So now my problem is all the chainwheels and chainwheel/crank combos I'm looking for have are only suitable for 1/8" chains!

This item looks like it would work: https://sunlitecycling.com/product_de...cl1=CHAINRINGS. (I didn't see any 40-tooth 3/32" chainrings)

However since this is a current model bike, you might be able to order the part from a Raleigh dealer.
