Steerer tube too short

I recently bought a fork and the steerer tube was too short for my bike and I can't return the item. I would like to know if I can do something so I don't have to buy another fork as it is a REALLY nice fork.
Thats all I have for use, just 4.5 centimeters or 1.77 inches.
Also canhttps://www.ebay.com/itm/370852843105 be an option?
Thanks for the help in advance.

Doesn't help me any, but the geniuses here may need that info I saw the steerer poking up above the head tube enough for most threaded headsets and was on that track before realizing this is for a stack and I have no idea the height you'd need for that.

What material is the steerer tube? If it's steel or aluminium, you have a good chance of being able to use a quill stem adapter to lengthen your steerer.

OTOH, if 4.5 centimeters is incl headset fitted, then there shoudl be enough place for a stem there. If that puts the bars too low, use a riser stem and a riser bar.

I couldn't understand what you meant here (OTOH, if 4.5 centimeters is incl headset fitted) can you please rewrite that and send me more information. The information after that raised my hopes. Please be as detailed as possible and If you can suggest me some stems, riser bars etc, it would be highly appreciated.

The thread title is confusing, as your fork isn't the issue, but your steerer tube is.

If you have 4.5cm of steerer tube after the headset is installed, by choosing an appropriate stem, you should have no issues with clearance, as stems vary in height from 4-5cm, you just need to pick a 4cm stem.

If there is still not enough steerer you only have 2 real options, re-sell, at what ever you can get for it, or replace the CSU (Crown Steerer Unit), this won't be a cheap option, but is the only other real option.

What ever you are looking at, as you have a carbon steerer, use the appropriate compression nut, not a star nut.

From the photo it appears the OP has only 4.5 cm of steerer above the headtube WITHOUT a headset. Also, the frame looks like it takes a standard press in headset requiring at least 30 mm and up to about 40 mm of stack height giving him only 5 to 15 mm for a stem. Won't work.

True, if not an integrated headset, frame, once the headset is installed , it may be way too short..

Hey, Jcil: I deleted your second thread as it was basically a dupe. If you need to add your pics to this thread. Good luck!

I just opened another thread because the title was misleading. I thought that if I had the right title I could get more help.
Can I change the title here?

Thanks!
The thread should be about the steering tube being too short.

You bought on price without considering the length of steerer-tube you needed , now you need another fork.

alternatively the LBS may find a source for the steerer-tube crown and stanchion tubes .. new parts
its made in one piece.

cost will approach almost as much as having bought the new fork.

Off road racing, the stem riser is, perhaps, not a great idea...

and maybe another camera with a flash, that works .

or a white background so the exposure compensation is brighter.

and I can't return the item.
did you get the whole headset installed ?

Sure I can help, I work at a bike shop in Oregon.. but guessing from a weak information offering ..

for free over the internet, is not my strong suit.

are you willing to ship this fork to a bigger city and have it done right?
