Powder Coating
I am in the process of restoring a 1982 Bianchi San Remo and I want to repaint the frame. Sine it is not the Celeste green I wrote Bianchi about obtaining the same paint and decals for that model and they told me that they were not available. I should be able to get someone to match the paint but the decals are a problem. Is there anyone out there that may sell vintage decals? The other question is someone sugested that I powder coat the frame. Has anyone done the to their frame and is the a viable option? Can you match colors with powder coating like you do when you paint?

Yellow Jersey in Madison Wisconsin, has a limited selection of decals for vintage bicycles. Since they sell Bianchi, there's a decent chance they have a set.
visit their netsite and search for them, or call and ask.
There's also someone in California that has made up a very large selection of decal reproductions, but the name escapes me for the moment. I'm sure you'll find them if you search "bicycle decals" or "vintage bicycle decals".

Powdercoating a frame can be problematic, the colors are usually more limited, and the results often disappointing.
Because of the material and the process, it usually comes out thicker than paint, and particularly around areas
like the insertions for your headset races, and the BB faces, this makes your life more complicated. Epoxy based
automotive paints are very durable and usually a better option.
You really ought to ask stuff like this in the C+V, where more people who do this will see it.

R&E in Seattle would be a local contact, and as framebuilders themselves, likely have a long list of optional finishing companies
There is a pretty much all or nothing aspect to powder-coating so exact matching seems unnecessary a worry..

A good powder coater will do an astounding job that is as good or better than paint. Try Len McCreary at Figure Finishing LLC in Manassas Park, VA (he does mail order, too). Awesome work with none of the issues mentioned above. Another vote for velocals, too. Here's what one of my bikes looks like powdercoated by Len with decals from JR at velocals:

Got any close-ups of the lugs?
Sweet-looking ride, BTW... although I can't help thinking the seat lets it down a bit and it'd look better with some gumwalls.
