long pull short pull break levers
I have an old kuwahara vintage late 70's 10 speed. It has the old dia compe brakes with the saftey/suicide break leavers. I want to change them out for some new break levers. Do I need long pull or short pull levers or how can I tell. It has the old centerpull dia compe breaks.
It is an old bike but I want to nurse it along as I take a 69cm frame. Not many new ones around.

Standard road type levers are needed, ie. for caliper, not V-type brakes.
BTW- I have a bunch of New (old stock) DiaCompe and other drop bar hooded levers of the right type which I'm unloading at $15.00/pr.

If I were you I'd get another set of cable out the top brake levers , **
often all you have to do is remove the turkey wing lever and cut the boss off the Lever
(dia Compe also made the same Brake lever without the extension lever added )
the piece inside the lever that the fixing bolt for the bar clamp Band made smooth , both ends.
rather than threaded and sticking out (just sawing it off Flush may be good enough )
** that type are mid point in cable pull/MA between Aero road short , And V/MTB Long.

come on, just plop em down on a flat bed scanner, save as a high quality jpeg and upload em over to him for 15 bucks, easy peasy.
Geez, you'd think we were still in 2030 or something.
