Ah so its safe? Ok ...won't corrode the tire? I look at glues at the hardware store and son't know one from the other. Is contact cement called that? I am in Australia too so if u know a brand i can search for i would appreciate that info :0)

Pattex makes a great glue that is usable for anything semi flexible (including shoes). I have a couple of bottles of it, and if my Schwalbes' reflective stripes comes off, that is what I will try. It doesn't have volatile stuff in it that might damage rubber.

He wasn't recommending you go to a bike shop, he recommended you go to a shoe repair shop and get a tube of glue there. Easiest fix? Pull off the rest of the strip.

Oh ok i misunderstood. I have never seen an aussie shoe repair place sell glue. Other stuff like paints they sell but not glue. Used to see shoe glues in Kmart but they stopped selling it too. I like the strip so no i am keeping it :0)

Oh that sounds interesting as i do have a problem with chemicals. I have to use any glues outside or anything i lube the bike with etc. Just did a search on aussie ebay and got this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pattex-Co...item3cd3a47acc

Edit: I have never seen such a small tube of Pattex, though. My bottles are larger (two sizes) and comes with a dispenser cap.

Me too. I suffer from MCS (although it has gotten better in the last few years), and the Pattex is the only glue I can use indoor for gluing my kid's toys or things like that.

Do you want me to take a picture of one of my bottles? I only mentioned the small tube because it looks like one of those made for that crazy glue stuff, although it does say it is flexible on the one you linked to. On second thought, it probably is the same as the stuff I have in my bottles.

If you lived closer, I'd send you a bottle of mine. Good luck with it all

That's ok. Having to try things out, only to throw them away because we react to them is an annoying, ongoing expenditure. And it's just for a tyre, or rather, for something for a tyre, so try the knock-off first. If it's exactly like the "genuine" one, you might be pleasantly surprised that you're not harking your lungs out and get all the rest of your particular symptoms (I'm told others have a slightly different sets of symptoms).

No problem at all! I'm glad to have been able to help
I too had focus/memory problems for a couple of years - to the extent that I couldn't even watch a half-hour programme on the telly and get anything out of it, but it has improved to the point that I can make a living if I have enough small breaks along the way. It is not up to what it was before, but good enough that I can make a living again. Fortunately I'm paid on a project basis, and that helps me because I can take the breaks I need and recheck things I have forgotten. I don't feel as sharp as I used to, but I'm sharp enough that people still find a use for my skills, which is somewhat of a comfort.

Ah no i will do it myself as the bike repair places charge too much and i cant shell out money everytime a little thing goes wrong
same, functionally, as Contact cement (which comes in gallons at builder's supplies)

Thanks I just thought I'd share it, so you knew that it might improve down the road as it has for me, even if there were some critical periods where I very much doubted it.
If you remember when you get the pattex, please do post if it worked for you. If it didn't work for you, I have no doubt that a well-assorted hardware store nearby you will have the genuine Pattex, and as such you might be able to "sniff" it before buying it, just to make sure you are not wasting money on that stuff.

I had 2 sets of Schwalbe tires with the loose 1cm of reflective tape. I've been riding on them for 4 years without them coming free. That loose bit is just where they join the two ends. You might be fine just doing nothing. A tiny dab of super glue would likely be fine too.
