Jockey chain noise

Hello,

I've already ordered another derailleur hanger but was wondering how noisy is your jockey wheel/chain? When I'm pedaling I can hear the jockey/chain. I'm thinking that's not normal.

Thanks

If aligned properly it shouldn't be noisy at all. If the alignment is off you can get clicking from the chain going on and off the wheel. I've found I have issues with that when I tighten the rear wheel unto the trainer too tightly and it pushes the derailleur off kilter a little.

Yep, that's not normal at all. First make sure there is no stiff link in your chain, as that can make noise each time the link travels over the jockey wheel. If all clear, then maybe take the jockey wheel apart, clean and lube.

Yeah, stiff link can do it too. If that is the cause it will generally just make a noise as that link passes through so it should be easy to diagnose.

Freewheel/ freehub wobble can cause noise

Even with a new hanger, you should have it aligned. And if you can have it aligned you may not need a new hanger. For little more than the price of a small piece of aluminum I bought the tool and aligned the one I had. It has been dead silent ever since.
