shimano 105 fd 1055

Hey guys i got a 105 fd 1055 but its braze on i guess thats the expression but unfortunately i need a clamp to attach it to the frame of my bike. My question is about the compatibility of shimano fd can i use a clamp from a different shimano fd or it has to be the exact same model as the fd i have. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.

You just need a clamp adaptor, Shimano make them, so do Campagnolo, SRAM, Problem Solvers like this https://problemsolversbike.com/produc...illeur_adapter and many others.

You will need to get the correct size for your seat tube, but all brands should be compatible with each other, just don't get an MTB Direct Mount version, as this is a totally different mounting.

A clamp for a 5600 is not going to work on a 1055.
In which country are you?

No. the clamp is integrated into the derailleur.

As stated, the clamp on Shimano clamp-on front derailleurs can't be changed. You need the right diameter clamp or a braze-on front derailleur with the proper diameter adapter clamp.

Your profile doesn't give a location so we automatically assume you are in the USA. Since you are not it would be helpful to tell us where you are located and perhaps, someone can help you find what you need there.

I have a Shimano 1055 front derailer, 28.6mm clamp (designed for standard steel frame dimensions). I don't expect I'll ever use it again, and can send it to you for the cost of shipping if you want. PM me if interested.

These pictures also shows you how the clamp is integrated into the derailer's structure and cannot be disconnected.

Fasten the derailleur to the adapter firmly and align the adapter/front derailleur on the seattube and tighten it firmly and it should never move until you want it to.
