Currently I have a DeoreXT rear der and 8 speed cassette and shifters. I need to change my shifters but I cant find any 8 speed made by SRAM. If I buy 9 speed shifters and use my 8 speed cassette will I run into problems?

Also, is there a significant difference in performance between a cassette that is 11-32 vs 11-34?

Look harder. There are plenty of sram 8 speed shifters listed in the QBP. 9 speed shifters don't work so good with 8 speed cassette, due to the big difference in cog spacing.

J&B Importers list the PG-830 (280g) or PG-850 (250g), both with 11-28 or 11-32 gear choices. Shouldn't be too hard to find.
