Dent in seat tube

1 Attachment(s)
Today I noticed a very small dent on my Bianchi Pista's seat tube. It's very small and I only found it because of the way the light hit it. If I run my hand over the area I can just feel a shallow spot. The bike isn't that old and I've never hit the area so I'm guessing it came that way. My question: is it safe to ride? I certainly don't need a tube failure while going down a hill at 30 mph. I suspect this isn't an issue but I figured someone here could answer the question better than me. I've attached a picture but you can't really see anything other than a slight diffraction of the light.

Yes it's safe to ride. It's extremely unlikely to fail suddenly within your lifetime.

Thanks for the reply! Good to know it's OK.

+1 on safe. That dent is so minor as to be negligible and the seatube is not a highly stressed part. Even a major failure there should not cause an accident. As FB noted, the bike will likely outlive you.

I've had a couple of small dents in my downtube for the last 10 years (40K miles). It's an ALU frame I bought for $200 15 years ago - in other words, just about the cheapest.
