    Do I need new headset?

I just purchased a used frame and have decided to clean it. I took the fork off, and the headset bearings are all rusty on the outside, but seems run normally. I did not get a ride on a new frame (waiting for more parts) so I don't know if there will be any issues with that

Do you think that I should get a new headset? Or just clean the old one I will be fine?

The frame is from 2008. I think this is FSA headset

If the races look OK (no pattern of rust, or dimples along the ball track) and the seals and other parts are all OK, then buy a fresh complement of balls (or a pack of 100) and reassemble it. Do this now, or soon, so you have a chance to see if it works out while you're still waiting on other stuff.
