2014 Bontrager Race Lite hubs

I've spent a fair bit of time trying to figure out what these actually are. Not the Race X Lite... the Race Lite.I realize they are proprietary and that Bontrager essentially says if you want to work on them take them to a dealer but before buying the wheels I would at least like to understand the hubs a bit and whether they are an entirely unique design or if in fact they mirror or mimic an existing hub. Does anybody in the known universe know what hubs these are based on or actually are rebranded from?

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

I don't know those hubs, and don't memorize every hub in the world. But there are a limited number of basic designs used out there with variations. So if you have confidence in your skills, go ahead and see if you can figure out the disassembly sequence and back engineer it for yourself. If you've seen enough hubs, odds are it'll become familiar as you go along.

Have you spoken to your Trek Dealer ? they own Keith and have used his family name as a brand name for all their stuff , now .

though it's made for them by the hungry and innovative TW manufacturers that supply the world wide bike sales.

The Bontrager Race Lite wheels on my wife's bike have DT Swiss hubs. They have that name on them and a serial number. I contacted DT Swiss to see if the freehub could be changed to Campy, they said no. I assume that they were built under contract with Bontrager (Trek). DT Swiss builds a lot of hubs of various types, styles, and quality.

The hubs are probably Joytech or one of the other Chinese manufacturers. ROAD - Novatec

Like I said, my wife's bike, a 5200 Trek, has "Bontrager Race Lite" wheels with DT Swiss hubs. We bought the bike New. But it is an older bike, and that may explain the difference. And I've never liked the wheels.
