Brake Pads for Dia-Compe BRS 101
I want to buy some replacement pads for these calipers, and want to make sure I get the correct style/design...on kool stop's site I see lots of different designs. How would you label this design?
In terms of getting the right pads for how I ride...I have Mavic A719 rims on a steel touring bike and I want a pad that works well on steep descents on gravel roads, and that can handle wet conditions (less than 10% of my rides...but so useful when it happens), and occassional use in the winter (-10-20 celcius...not much riding in snow unless unplanned)

You can use just about any road brake shoe. KoolStop, offers a few choices, and most here would say that their Salmon or Deal compound shoes give best all weather performance.
You have a basic choice between replacing with another set of one-piece molded shoes, or using a replaceable insert with holder type. The latter is pricier on the initial buy, but saves with the next replacement because hereafter you'd be only buying inserts.
Visit the KoolStop site to see the choices, and be aware that there are also other quality brands out there, so it's not just KS.
