9-speed Cassettes - Shimano Tiagra HG50 vs. SRAM PG-950?
Planning to replace the chain and cassette on my Volpe soon, due to wear, and my bike came with the Shimano Tiagra HG50 12-25t cassette. I've never had any complaints about the stock cassette. The shop I'll be getting them from can get the Shimano stuff, but would have to order it, and they stock the SRAM PG-950. If I went with the 12-26t SRAM cassette, everything is the same tooth count except for the largest, but is there any significant difference in durability or shifting?
Also, which brand's chain to go with, if it makes a difference? Shimano HG73 vs SRAM PC-951.

I've used both cassettes and I doubt you would notice a difference. I would get whichever is least expensive. A SRAM or KMC chain is better imo, because of the reusable link.

Buy with price in mind.
I use the HG-50's since they are relatively cheap. I have bought several different combinations and swap cogs around at times to "custom gear" them for some uses. Most times, I just use a stock configuration.
I also buy SRAM chains.

I concur with the above. The differences aren't very meaningful, and master links are convenient for removing and cleaning your chain. Also, I have used Shimano chains with master links from another manufacturer.
