    FC-6400 and dura ace chainring compatibility


    I have a single speed bicycle. My chain was stretched and today I replaced it with new one. Also I replaced my freewheel with new one. I instaleed everything and noticed that when I rotate front chainring then chain stays stronger and after rotation lighter. I noticed that I can not tension chain evenly. I started researching my front chainring and it was pretty bad. I need a new front chainring.

    I have FC-6400 crankset - Component: Shimano FC-6400, 600 Ultegra with one chainring. I want to buy dura ace FC-7710 52T chainring, but I do not know if these two parts are compatible? Is there any differences in screw positions or something else that is incompatible?

    I downloaded FC-7710 chainring specification from shimano homepage an they say that chainring is for 3/32" chain, but in ebay most sellers says it is for 1/8 chain? Also tracksupermarket sells this chainring and says it is for 1/8. Are there two versions of this chainring?

    What you need to check firstly is the BCD, or Bolt Circle Diameter. I did a quick google and the FC-7710 crank BCD is 144mm, while yours is 130mm, which leads me to believe that it will not work.
