aero bars on tapered?

Hi,

I'm new to road biking and recently purchased a 2005 Fuji Roubaix. I'd like to clip some aero bars onto the existing bars which are tapered from the stem to where the bar tape starts. Any chance there are bars out there that will attach to the tapered section? Thanks.

I don't know of any that will mount on the actual tapered part of the bar. You should be able to find a set that will mount on either side of the taper though.

Many of the early clip-on aerobars (late 80's, early 90's) clamped onto the narrow section of the handlebars (22-24mm) instead of near the stem. Most (all?) current models clamp on near the stem (26mm or 31.8mm).
