Relacing Real Designs Supersonic 60
So my uncle had a spare Supersonic rear wheel laying around that is in fairly good condition that he gave me.
The only issue is that this wheel is set up to take a cassette and I pretty much exclusively ride fixed. I've been searching around and trying to figure out if it would be feasible to lace the hoop itself to a track hub. The main issue I've encountered is that the wheel as it is now has straight pull spokes - I'm not sure if this is because of the hoop, the hub or both. I would imagine that the nipple interface would be the same as a normal spoke, yes? If so, could I just find a track hub with the same number of holes and lace it using normal spokes?
If this wouldn't work, I'd also be interested in lacing it as a front wheel, for this would I just need a straight pull front hub and spokes?

I'm too tired to reread a third time so if I mistake something sorry. First the supersonic rear wheel had better have at least one flange of crossed spokes or serious damaging wind up will happen. But that's moot as the OP wants to just reuse the rim on another hub. Which is very possible given the same spoke count for each. Rims often have a side to side offset of the spoke holes so this pattern needs heeding. As I mentioned the new hub needs at least one flange with tangential/crossed spoke pattern, better to do both. Don't assume the new hub will need the same spoke lengths, in fact best to replace the spokes to insure even nipple friction and no fatigue issues before using. If you do use the rim as a front then a radial pattern will work, although I don't know why people think their better then the time proven cross patterns. (Actually I do know many of the claims, I just don't put any credence in them), Andy.

Want a track fixie rear wheel? build it from scratch , you may have found why your uncle didn't use the wheel .
leave it as is .. and get something else built for your needs .

Is this a special rim that you really want to re-use ?

The rim (from what images I can find on Google) seem to take regular spokes so as long as you have a hub with the same number of holes, just calculate the new spoke length you need and you should be able to relace.
