Can you ID the BB type needed?

Hello,

I have a FUJI Team Pro 2009 (frame was built up at one time but only ridden twice, it then sat and was parted out...I got the frame). I am getting an Ultegra groupset for it, but just when I think I have the specs nailed, I run into another question about the bottom bracket.

What BB do I need for this bike?
Originally, it came with a "Shimano Exterior Bearing System". Is this a press fit system or an English thread system?

Here are the original specs: Fuji Team Pro Carbon Road Bike 2009. Traditional triathlon and road bicycles for

Thanks!
Dave

Off the cuff, but easily confirmed with a visual inspection, I'd strongly suspect that given the vintage the bike would have a standard 1.37x24 threaded BB.

What should I look for/ measure for the visual inspection?

I don't know if there are newer BBs that might fool anyone, but given the vintage we'll rule that out. A 1.370" BB will be just about 1-5/8" OD (not precise), and if the cups are threaded they'll have a provision for some kind of keyed spanner, such as grooves around the OD.

I just measured it and that inner and outer diameters match. It has threading inside, too. Does this mean I should choose the English Threaded BB rather than the press fit one? Looking at Shimano Ultegra.

Should doesn't apply here. You have no choice, threaded it is.

The frame was originally spec'd with a "HT2" crank and bottom bracket. Fairly certain the frame is a standard English BB (68mmx1.37-24), so if you have the "HT2" crank select the appropriate BB.

Shimano exterior is standard English Thread. Just went through the same ?? with my LBS concerning a newer Trek 3700. Hollow Tech II's , GXP etc... type BB's will fit right in. You have a lot to choose from.

Just about any standard ISO BB 80's to present should thread into your frame you just need to get one to match the crank. Yours is likely a current Shimano Hollow Tech type so you have most of the late model stuff to choose from.
