You bought new brakes and had your spokes replaced to solve the problem? You need to think about cause and effect before you spend your money.

Every day I learn more and more.
And to be honest, I didn't want to discard or remove or store those beautiful Araya OEM rims.
Oh well. They'll still look great, hanging on the wall. I guess.
UNLESS I can find someone who is capable of getting rid of that seam divot.
I'd sure like to keep these rims on the bike if possible; don't care so much about the money. They just look right.

The money I spent is (a) insignificant, and (b) none of your business. And criticisms from pseudonyms only make me smile.

I DID think of new rims. But all the ones I could find were a quintential sequence of flat, bent metal . . . very much unlike the smooth, shiny, rounded, beautiful surface of the original Arayas. I hope you'll forgive me for doing everything I can to keep them.

Thanks, Jon, and good for you. Maybe you can point me toward someone who can smooth out the OEM front Araya. Meantime, I've got a lesser set of wheels on the way. They'll keep me riding on old steel until the Arayas can be fixed.

Haven't found anything as beautiful as the original Arayas yet, but I did find these - Wheel Master Weinmann LP18 Wheel Set - 700c, 36H, 5/6/7-Speed Freewheel, Quick Release, Silver from Green Canyon Outfitters. They fit perfectly into the 126mm dropouts. They've ended the pulsing and should be fine until I can find the bling to match the originals.
