Deore Triple Front Crank + 9 speed DA Friction Bar End Shifter + Alivio "FC MC12" FD?

Modern Deore 9 Speed triple crankset + 9 speed DA Barcons (left/front set to friction) + Alivio "FC MC12" FD?

Got the FD from the local bike co-op for a dollar. Trying to save 30 bucks buying a brand new FD. Will work? Why or why not?

Thanks!

FWIW, front barend shifters are all friction, there is no "indexing" option. Because of that, pretty much any front derailleur can be made to work with any crank and chain. Not ideally perhaps but it will work.

That's what I thought. It wasn't much of a risk to buy it (1 dollar) but I kinda wanted to be sure before I went through the trouble to cable it all up. The FD is meant for a triple, FWIW, so I'm thinking it should work okay.
