Magura HS33 brake block compatibility.

This question might sound silly for some of you, but I cant seem to find any answer elsewhere.

I am building a bike for touring and considering to get the Rigida Andra CSS rims. A lot of folks suggested that I need to get the Swisstop blue pads for good braking performance. I'm not sure if I can make it work with the Magura HS33 brakes?

Any thoughts?

the magura pads are a totally different design than what works on most rim brakes
so
unless swissstop makes magura rims brake specific pads
then no

the solution to this problem
as you have not yet built your wheel
is to choose another rim that is compatible with normal pads
or
get a set of v or cantilever brakes and matching levers

its still crack-of- dawn here ,, looking up stuff at the same time..

So 1.. did you contact Magura? Contact | MAGURA

Download any manuals ? HS33 R*| MAGURA

or their forum MAGURA Community -> HS 11

Contact any Bike Shop? and ask if any of their distributors handle Magura?

4 different pad compounds offered they have a match pad for ceramic rims. green are more abrasive, to probably go with ceramic rims .

I got a set of the green compound pads used to break in a hard anodized Mavic rim and scoured through the CD layer in a few wet winter steep downhill stops
[then I went back to the regular aluminum rim compound pad]

KoolStop molds many of their pads (shipped to Germany) and sells their own Kool Stop International - High Performance Bicycle Brake Pads Since 1977.

NB: they only ship thru the industry's business channels , not to the customer...

looking at new catalog their aero caliper for road and time trial and cable converter brake RT6 C*| MAGURA

And can use the HS11 or 33 brake lever ,, and so use Dura Ace type pad holders which swiss stop also offers pads of that type..

I have some agreement with Wilfried , I live on a very popular touring route.. but that is just 1/3 0f the year. rest of the year we sell to the Locals

so the shop wont have high end stuff . We scramble to source anything Campag, often call the next shop down the coast & they fire off a overnight shipped order
so 2 days south the parts will hopefully be there when they limp in.

damage the rims , what is your back up plan ? wait a month while the air freight clears customs, to get to where you are
and gets to the shop to hand build a new wheel ?

WE can put you in touch with Motels, sell you food and drink around town in the meantime ,

Bike24 - Magura HS33 R Urban Hydraulic Rim Brake rear - black ... https://www.bike24.com/p298761.html

all references are to European sites so they dont cross the Atlantic to the US.

except for buying from European shops that are international shippers ..
