creaky new bike

I just got a new bike, a Windsor Hour. Its a fixed gear track bike type of thing. After a few rides I'm starting to hear some creaking type sounds coming from down by the pedals. Only happens when i step down hard on the pedals. Sounds like short 'creaks' and 'tick' 'clickity click click'.....any ideas what this is?

Is the bike aluminum? If it is, unfortunately the frame could be masking where the sound is really coming from. Aside from checking any loose bolts, pedals, or chainrings, it's difficult to track down those kinds of noises. I also had similar sounds the day after riding in the rain, and my frame was amplifying the sounds of residual water dripping off of various parts.

Could be a bad bearing in one of the pedals.

Lose it. They're overrated. Just make sure to grease the entire seatpost (unless it's carbon fiber).

Happy trails!
