SRAM Rival 22 Crankset Compatibility with 10-speed Cassette
I am thinking about switching from a standard to compact crankset, will this work?

Sure as long as the bottom bracket is compatible. 10 speed and 11 speed chain ring dimensions and spacing are close enough not to matter.
You will need to reposition the front derailleur and possibly adjust your chain length. I'm guessing you want a compact to get a lower climbing gear so one question is how low do you want to go? A 34-50 "standard" compact gets you the lowest gear but a 36-52 mid compact or 36-46 cyclocross crank may give you more useful gears, especially with an 11-28 or 12-28 cassette.
