Leatherman Bracelet?

Here's something different, a tool bracelet from Leatherman. You can choose from 25 different tools. And add a watch. It's intriguing, anyway.

Good multi-tools are minimally functional; this one far less so. What do you do when one bit breaks or wears out -- spend another $150? You'll still have to carry some other tools to cover the stuff this jewelry doesn't have. Seems a lot of effort just to avoid security at Disney, less than once per lifetime.

Leatherman makes some useful stuff but this is just over reaching hype.

I can agree with that.
I used to like the original leatherman, but can't find it on their website.
I looked at this bracelet .. I thought it was bike specific with more metric, but it is not.
Leather has to do what Fast Food restaurants do..... come out with a new item all the time to get you to buy more and come into the store.

If you're going to hold your watch on, this is potentially far more functional than the typical watch band. And even if you never use it, it's a style statement, "I'm a rugged, tool-using guy!" How about including a data plate where you have your vitals inscribed a la RoadID.

This is IMO less than useful... years ago I had one of the original leatherman, then later replaced it with a much more functional gerber multitool...I think that one is still in my night stand....I can see no use for this thing, it will not even inspire penis envy.

I doubt that anyone is going to want this on their wrist if they ride bumpy roads. Just a watch with a steel band is bad enough, I can't imagine wanting this much weight therewhen you're getting pounded.

IMO - cool for showing off, less practical as a tool, and lest practical as a watch band.

BTW- if the justification was tool confiscation by airline security, I suspect that one would be best off not taking this along, lest the loss due to confiscation is increased dramatically.

I wouldn't wear it for a ride. But I might wear it in daily life. And I probably would wear it when traveling.

Given that, my choice of tool links would be not bike oriented, but more "fix something in a hotel room" oriented.

I have had a Leatherman tool on my belt since 1996. It goes everwhere with me even to church. I have used it countless times. That said, it is not a tool to be used everyday. The bracelet would make a great addition to my regular leatherman.

I think you would need to lube the bracelet with Chain-L..... It would be a manly aroma.

What I find amazing is how many people bike without any tubes, patch kits, or tools. Emergency use tools like Leatherman can mean the difference between riding and walking home.

That's because they take their cell phone on the ride, and if they flat they will call their mom and say. "come and get me"
Then take bike to LBS and have the flat fixed because they don't know how to fix one.

Emperor's new clothes!

It's rubbish - nothing to get stones out of horses' hooves, nothing to gut a fish with, nothing for a nail-filing emergency. All of which are essential in today's world.

I'm getting one.

Don't understand the negative comments. Everyone already wears a watch. Now there is a watch with a bunch of screwdrivers on it. What's not to like? What's not functional about this? You need a full sized handle to turn a philips screw? Are you tapping into oak?

The version with a watch face is overpriced. $400 extra for that? Hope they release that add-any-watch-face adaptor mentioned.

James Bond has watches that doubles as a gizmo; apparently it's now available to the public. How cool is that?

Really? I see fewer and fewer people wearing watches anymore. They all wear their phones.

The original PST was retired around 2002 or 03. If you go on Leatherman's website, there is a retired tool section. You should be able to find it on there. PSTs are still out there. Check Ebay for used ones or sometimes nos ones.
