Front wheel makes strange sound.
My bike is a stock 2015 Trek 7.2 FX. The front wheel is making a strange sound. The sound is intermittent, periodic and the period varies with the speed at which I am traveling. At first I thought it was a brake pad rubbing against the rim, but that's not it. It's a metallic "scraping" sound and it is only made when I'm on the bike. It won't make the sound when I lift and spin the front wheel so that it is not bearing any weight. I checked all of my spokes and they're fine. Some are looser than others but the wheel looks true to my eye. The cause of the sound does not seem to affect the ride or feel of the bike but I am concerned that this could be one of those things that if ignored will worsen.

Sounds can often be coming from locations other than where they seem. If it definitely can't be the front wheel, the drivetrain comes to mind.
Or I guess it's possible that the QR skewer is so loose that the wheel shifts when you mount up, resulting in fork or brake pad rub..

Optically Corrected
I had something like this happen - turned out that the front skewer had come loose.
