Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. I threw away tools.

Who cares about whether you actually need it, this is the best reason I have seen to hang onto useless stuff
IMO it's a shame you didn't think to make a post in C&V.

Sadness. Reduce, re-use, recycle.
Throwing away a tool is as near a sin as theft itself. Sell it, or at least give it away to a co-op or some promising young mechanic who is interested in wrenching on vintage bikes.
Sending something that of of value to someone else out there is just a waste. At least i hope you put them into a metal recycling bin and not straight to a landfill..

Co-op or "pay it forward" brings good karma

How about giving them to a local co-op? A plus plus.

Good idea to have an archive box. I think I'll do that to de-clutter. I have a Stronglight crank puller. I have a Helicomatic wrench. I can't remember what other obsolete tools I have, but I may have more. No plans to get rid of them. The money they could bring me is tiny compared with the cost of keeping them.
