Webzine: Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road

This "blog" has been set up in the form of a monthly webzine. The current format is five articles each month. Still looking for writers and contributors. Right now there are two of us writing and we managed two issues on time. Still looking for ideas and feedback.

The focus is touring and we like first hand stories with pictures. Here are links to our first two "issues".

December 2013 http://picoscycling.blogspot.ca/2013...-december.html

January 2014 http://picoscycling.blogspot.ca/2013...-december.html

The February issue is being developed. At the moment we don't see any reason that we won't be able to publish on schedule. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Back after a very long absence from this site. Haven't decided whether I will post the new issue here each month or not. Don't want to be here just to spam the site.

Since my last visit I had to change the hard drive on my laptop and a lot of saved information like passwords and favorites were lost. That included the information for this forum. Project for the day is to regain what has been lost.

I regularly post of Twitter for anyone following there I'm at @PicosCycling .

What a nightmare month. We got knocked off the Internet for a whole month. I uploaded the webzine articles for the January issue at the local library. The formatting got all screwed up and the photos wouldn't load either. Took me almost a week before I managed to get everything fixed. It is published and corrected so now I'm not ashamed of it. Pico's Cycling – Tales of the Road has already had a great month to date. Our February issue has easily been our best. Rather than flog articles and pages for the rest of the month. We want to focus on sustained growth through improving the product.

I've already been told by some to tear everything down and rebuild on a different platform. Invariably they tell me to start spending money we haven't got. If that's your suggestion please keep it to yourself. The vision we started out with is producing growth without investment that we don't have the means for. I believe in what we are doing.

We are signed up with Adsense and have an Amazon affiliate account with an accompanying bike shop advertised on the site. There is a trickle of funds coming in now, not enough to do much with it at this point.

From the beginning I've wanted to be able to compensate contributors. That means we need more income from advertising. I'm hoping this post will reach the eyes of people who can make useful suggestions that will help us do that.

Please take a look at the site and give us some feedback. Any help in that regard is appreciated. Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road .

Another round of Internet problems over the past month and a half. Tough winter here. Whatever the problem was it appears to be fixed now. Have added a back issues page. Have some alignment issues with the entries but a friend sent me code to get it straightened out. Just haven't had time to apply the photos to the code provided. Averaging better than 1250 page views per month this year. Being read in more than forty countries. Feels good. Here's a link to our latest issue: Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road: Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road April 2015 Vol. 3 No. 4
