Getting back into BMX...26" gearing??
After a nearly 30 year hiatus from BMX racing, a friend is encouraging me to get back into it (like he recently has).
It sounds like it could be fun again. I do a fair amount of road and trail riding, so I figure why not race the little tracks again?
I've picked up what I think will be a decent starter bike (2011 Specialized P1 - rigid, 26", rear disc) but I'm clueless as to what gearing might be good to race with.
Back in the day when I raced my 20" GT I had 44/16t and that was a winning setup for me.
For a 26" bike, though...maybe not?
So, what gearing might I try? The bike is currently 25/13t and runs out of steam way too early.
