mude 03-11-06 02:54 PM

lift up front
lift up back
flatten out
go outside and practice for 5 hours

now you got it.

MadMan2k 03-11-06 03:02 PM

I wish it only took 5 hours...

Mike321 03-11-06 07:23 PM

the best way to learn would be to get on ur bike,
ride it slow, just cruise

grip your feet on the peddles(by this i mean try to tilt them and push against them with your feet)

first push up the rear of the bike using your feet and then pull up and the bars.

i know it sounds weird, but once u can get that down, u will be able to modify it and make it into a good "hop"

mude 03-11-06 09:23 PM

5 hours for many days in a row.

Prozakk 03-11-06 10:06 PM

I got it right on the 1st try.

MadMan2k 03-12-06 12:43 AM

I'm a slow learner... manuals are taking more than ages to learn. Practice them a lot every time I ride but I still can't balance for long.

Bunny hopping is a funny thing. Some people get it right away and some don't. My son is still stuggling with it. He's young though. But some thing in life are that way, easy for some hard for others. Like playing an instrument. Some people struggle for years and still can't seem to get it. But practice will over come it.

i learned by doing them at night, the street lights make shadows, so i would try to manual from one shadow across the lit up part into the next shadow, and shadows are everywhere so you can just continusly go and still have refrence points for you start and end, without ever having to turn back around. i did this until it felt like my arms were going to fall off and i did this for not even a week.

you can try this it worked for me.

mude 03-12-06 11:09 AM

the giant cracks in the road make quite visible lines. i jsut go from one to the other

When I was 14-15, once I had the technique down, I could bunny hop about 3-4in. MAX.

I hadn't ridden for about 5 years, so now I'm 20, I just tried yesterday and I could bunnyhop ~12-14in. the first few tries.

The only difference is I am bigger and stronger, size and strength matter, and I was fairly athletic at the time (travel soccer and hockey) so it wasn't that when I was younger I was fat and weak or something to that affect.

What I'm saying is, if you are younger and smaller or weaker than a full grown adult, you should be riding a 16"-lightweight bike. It wouldn't have saved a lot of frustration when I was younger and I probably would have never taken this 5 year break.

I am also 14 a few months ago I could hop onto pic-nic tables clean not cliping my tire, but I havn't ridden since then due to other stuff. But now I have my newly built up FBM and need onething til I am able to ride. I hope to get 40 inches by this summer most tables are between 30-36.i just pull up into a manual posision and lift my back-end up with my feet gripping the pedals(grippy pedals help here) and thats it.

Age: 14
Wheelsize: 20"

Bunny Hop Height: About a foot

It took me about a month to learn. I actually learned to nollie, before bunny hopping.

bmichaelx 03-13-06 04:49 PM

I didn't read all of the psots aboive, but what realy helped me, was to put up a 2X4, or even a stick, ANYTHING. I was realy fat when I was trying to leanr how to bunnyhop, I am surprised that I did it actually.

The 2X4 helped me because I would know if I got over it or not, then I would feel special because I knew how high I got, and that I actually did it.
