My dad and I went to the BMX track this afternoon, there weren't a whole lot of people there and the people that were, mainly weren't very good (fine with us, we didnt seem crappy that way )s

So on to the photos:

The end.. we didn't take too many, but you can kind of see what it looks like. A lot different than the ones Expatriate posted of the australia track.

Looks a lot less technical than ours. They've had to build it up to slow down the faster racers. Your track would suit an old guy like me much better. The grandstands are a nice touch. At our track, you bring a blanket or chair, or park by the starting gate and watch from your car/truck/ute.

Where's your helmet? My policy is "No helmet, no photo". I don't want anyone doing anything stupid for the camera and splitting their head open. You'd go bigger if you had a lid and some pads on. Nice photos though.

Yeah, it's not very tight. Lots of room to pedal, and it doesn't really flow that well. I think they should redesign it, but I think they only do once every couple years or so...

A lot of kids ride it, and if it's really tricky to ride, they might get discouraged I guess.

You're right, I would go bigger if I had at least a helmet on, but I just didnt have it that day.

That's what my back yard is going to look like when I move back to the states. Actually, it will look a bit more like Stumpy's yard, but you get the idea.

i wish my backyard was big enough for jumps.

i built two jumps that my dog destroyed. i built a 3 foot high step up, and a 3 foot quarter. dirt is not the best choice for a quarter pipe.

We have a dirt 1/4 pipe in an old quarry over here. Sweet!

Have any of you guys ever seen those pics in BMX Plus! of those 4 or 5 kids out in like Arizona or something with a Dirt Bowl...its really nice, they said that they started out with a quarter and then made a halfpipe then slowley transitioned to the bowl, and thier trails that they have transfer in and out of the bowl and have many lines, it was really cool

Wow.. the dirt here is crap for building anything, it crumbles really quickly. I guess the natives built their houses out of it, but... :/

You need to find someplace with a high clay content. That's the best stuff for making jumps, berms, and bowls.
