BMX DiamonBack...

I Live in Montreal QC, i bought a "BMX DiamonBack" a while back, but im not realy into doing moves or jumps
, tricks... i got it on sale for 500$ and i feel like its a real heavy bike comparing to someone on the street
that got his from a "Wall-Mart" so im still wondering why my bike is heavy ? and some other stuff....
here is a pic that may look a little like my bike i got off google...

kinda looks like this the color is the same...

any thoughts ?

its heavy becuase .....
i dont know

just work on lighting it up

you can:
cut the bars down (make them narrower)
cut your seatpost (you only need 3 and 1/2 inches in the actuall seatube
[U]get new wheels[U] (your wheels are the best place to lose wieght becuase its ROTATING weight)
[U]take pegs off[U] (if you dont use 'em then forget about impressin the neighbors with them and take em off)
[U]get a new fork[U] (lots of stock forks are beffy and heavy, so by replacing the one you have you can lighten up your front end)
[U]take front brakes off[U] (if you dont use 'em of course)
[U]lighter innertubes[U](rotating weight once again)
[U]seatpostclamp[U] (less than $10 you can get a seatpost clamp that weighs less than an ounce, the one you have now is probly like 2 ounces...this stuff adds up quick!)
[U]put helium in your tires[U] (ok, ok,ok it was just an idea...but Nascar and some other racing cars do it...)

if you looking for the parts...look on
