Pedaling my *** off....

as of right now i have a 39/16 gearing....i wanted to get a little bit more clearance for grinding and jumping...and also to get more acceleration....BUT...i don't want to be peddling for like ever.....i do mostly street riding....and also i live out in the ''country'' so i do have to get going sometimes...there are alot of hills where i am....you are all probably asking....''how does he live in the country and ride street''////welp i live near a pretty big city so ya...well anyways... i have poverty sealed hubs(flip flop hubs) what is the smallest freewheel that i can put on my bike...13?...well if 13 can...is 30/13 too small? ok...welp i am done asking questions now

36-13 is taller than the gearing he's running now, it's equivalent to 44-16. That means slower acceleration, not faster. That being said, 39/16 is pretty short, I'm running equivalent gearing on my flatland bike. 32-13 would keep about the same ratio you have now, a *little* bit shorter but I really wouldn't drop down too short or you're spinning and spinning and going nowhere.

"Welp" is not a word. And we don't want to know about you peddling your ass, either. Sounds like something Queensrider might do. Your bike has pedals. There's a huge difference between peddling your ass and pedalling your ass off.

You're not correcting me, you're only making yourself look stupid. Your bike has pedals, got it? Not peddles.

Look up these two words, then tell me you're correcting me:

Pedal, peddle.

Well, you can get on a road bike and see what 53-11 feels like. Or get on a mountain bike and see what 30-32 feels like. They're pretty much what you'd expect.

Hahaha... Have any of you ever read over one of these threads you invent out of thin air? It's really amusing reading about how terribly people's grammar is criticized in a biking forum...
anyway I'm currently running a 16x44 ratio and was wondering how i could reduce the size of my sprocket, maybe lowering the gearing just slightly at the same time.
Thanks a lot
