Which headset should I get?

Hey guy's I just bought a new DK 6 pack frame, what is a good head set of it and that would be on the rather inexpensive side. Thanks.

you bought just the frame..i didnt know that DK sold the Six Pack as just a frame...

anyways...

get a Solid headset, they have needle barings that are soo smooth you could probly only have like two in the race and in would STILL run smooth....althought its around $50

but if your a cheapo...get an FSA PIG...there nice too....and are like $20-40

Not to take a page from Beerman's book, but didn't you say you worked in a shop?

Does he really work in a shop or not? Some shops don't cater to BMX, so I can understand if he does. Besides, he's going to the know it alls around here.

If you work in a shop, you should be competent enough to know a good part from a bad part. Also, your employee discount should make any headset availble short of a King have a reasonable enough price.

I should have mentioned this before, but the only regular 1-1/8" headset on the market that's even remotely worth buying is the Solid.

Solid headsets are not sealed...but they are juust as good...

the have what are called needle type barings wich are suuper smooth and are shaped like little cylinders...and they are like vertical (this is hard to explain) in the cup of the headset...and basically..the runn SOOOOO SMOOTH...that you could almost take like all of them out and only use like 2 of them...and you would still have a smoooth headset...

and you dont need a sealed....as long as you clean and maintain your bike...

and the solid is STRONG...

so just go with it...

Needle bearings are better than sealed. And they distribute the load better too.
