The funny thing is. I thought it was funny that guys our age, with good jobs would spend way to much for a vintage bike. But after seeing that pic I posted. I get it. I could actually see myself paying ALOT for that bike. But it would have to be exactly the same, and blue. :) I would just hang it on the wall. It would be living room art.

I did some math, Darin. Are you sure you had one in sixth grade?
|
I'm class of '85, so I was in 6th grade in '79. This bike is circa 78. I started wondering if it wasn't 7th or 8th. 7th perhaps. But I'm sure it wasn't 8th. That was when I had my Powerlight.

I'm was pretty sure the first one came out in 1978, but there's some guy online that says it was 1976.
Mongoose, Redline, Skyway and Jag all started in SoCal. My friend's dad welded for SE Racing, and GT is somewhere in SoCal too. The late 70's/early 80's were a good time to live in SoCal if you were a kid into BMX. |
I'm trying to remember where I got that pic, I can ask the guy what it was.
