My bike arrived
I got my bike yesterday - it arrived at the shop and they were busy so they didn't have time to get it built by the time they had told me to be there, but I just told the guy he didn't have to put the brakes on anyway, so he took them off and took off the gyro and lever too :)
The bike is a Specialized Fuse III, in black (as you can see), with all stock parts except Animal Edwin grips (wanted to try these out, and the shop had them unlike ODI Longnecks) and my old teal Jim C's. I didn't get any time to take pictures yesterday, and could only ride it for 15 minutes, but today I got to ride it more, and went to the park also. The stock tires are alright, but don't hook up on metal halfpipes any better than the holyrollers on my other bike.. anyway, I really like the feel of it so far, and it's great to have a bike that doesn't rattle and creak every time I do something on it :o Still haven't entirely gotten used to the geometry, it's my first 20" BMX. Are those Luftalarm cranks?
|
Yeah. I'm not too thrilled with them, they stick out past the bolt on the back and catch my jeans doing rollbacks sometimes.
|
That seat looks awfully lower mister. :)
|
that bike looks a beast, i ride specialized mountain/downhill bikes, but that bmx looks fantastic, great choice madman and specialized are always behind you for parts etc etc, im jealous of you, that looks sooo much better than my current mongoose.

Try lowering your stem, i found it to help with manuals, and it makes you bike look cleaner.
|
I might lower it, but I think I'd have to cut the steer tube, since it used to have a gyro on and the guy put spacers instead.
Darin - yep, it is pretty low.. then again, I have other bikes for long distance rides so I'm not worried about being comfortable to sit down and pedal. |

I guess it has a hi-ten steer tube.. If it bends, I'll replace it.
