what does rise mean?

when they say the bars have an 8" rise what do they mean? cause my bars kinda... yea idk that came witht he freeagent flying fortress PRE-S&M bars

Yep. Supposedly if you're having back pain from riding and you use low-ish bars, getting some that are a little higher will help. But 8" is already pretty high, and if you don't like the feel, you can try getting some that are a little lower like 7.5 or even 7.25.
