haro
I want to get into some trail riding and was looking at the Haro Backtrail X1. I'm 6'0" about 190 lbs. Will this be a good bike for me to start with as far as size?

The bike sucks mad balls and with your height and weight it's just not good for you... the only backtrail version of a Haro worth getting is the X 3.

the geometry on this bike is the same as the X3 so why would my height and weight make any difference?
I heard some good things about this bike and just want to get straight before I end up wasting my money.

That doesn't mean the parts are the same and that the frame is made of the same materials... the X3 has a full chromoly frame.. the X1 does not. The X3 is a lot better.

Trail riding could be hard on bikes as you're learning tricks, since you'll probably throw the bike a lot of times, making it land flat or on the next jump, and could bend/snap a lot of the parts if they're cheap.
Usually bikes for under about $300-350 aren't really worth it if you want to actually ride.

the geometry question didn't have anything to do with the quality of the bike. you said it was not good for my height so i was just wondering. So the X3 is just built better.

I dont have the extra 130 bucks right now. I might save up the rest but back to size question since they are the same size. For my size there is no problem with either of these bikes?

At your height you'd probably like a toptube between 20.5'-21'.
