    ...with 25/9 gearing...or do I need a 1/2 link chain?

A 510hx would be better. Half link chains are kind of neat because you can get the chain tension better if you run your wheel closer sometimes, but at least the Shadow one is really hard on chain tools. It won't really work unless you have one of the nice park ones, and even then you can snap a pin if you put the chain in upside down so it moves (I bought a new tool, and snapped the pin when I was putting it on, but the shop let me return it since it wasn't meant for BMX chains anyway and put the chain on for me with theirs )

get a 510hx, and a half link. you won't need the halflink, you may not even use it, but there is a possiblity you can get your rear end shorter with it, and they're cheap. it couldn't hurt to buy one.

Well I already have the chain on my 2nd bike...wanted to switch with my big ass street chain.

I have the best chain tool Park offers...was like $35.

Yeah, that one will work. Even better if it's the one that works with 1/8th to 3/16th chains. All my shop had was the 3/32-1/8th, that isn't as strong.

    It's the 3/16 - 1/8. Awesome and built like a tank.
