cranks

my cranks keep creaking and coming loose. i asked a guy and he said they are creaking because they are a bit old and wearing out. if i buy new crank bolts (beacause mine are a bit striped) and do them up realy tight will that stop the creaking.

thanks

the bearings are most likely shot, could be unsealed bearings.

This is true, try taking them to a local bike shop, or freind that knows what hes doing.

My hollowbites creak sometimes, but there is nothing wrong with them, its just the hollow aluminium.

I've been thinking about getting a pair of hollowbites, but I dont know if they would hold up to my street riding/grinds.

If they are unsealed...grease the crap out of them. Mine are brand new bearings (practically) but they still squeek because they dont have good grease on them.
