cassett hub and chain
I want to buy a cassett hub and i have a fat chain. I believe its 3/16 but im confused because a regular freewheel tells you want size dhain it will fit. The cassett hobs just tell me '9,10,and11 tooth cogs" thats an example. Can someone please help me

Your problem has nothing to do with your hub and everything to do with your sprocket. If it's a 3/16 chain, make sure the sprocket has 3/16 teeth.

I don't think there are any cassette cogs, or any freewheels under like 13T, that are 3/16. It's safe to assume they're 1/8th.
It can't hurt to get a new chain too, since they wear in together and should stay newish longer. A Shadow Interlock V2 is a good chain, except for the fact you need the $30 Park tool to put it on, and it's more expensive than other ones. It lets you adjust the length more accurately though, and it fits 1/8th but it's thicker than most chains.

All chains stretch, including that 510hx (which came on my bike).
That's kind of weird wtp, the cheaper Park one ($15) I had didn't work for mine.

just get a normal 1/8th chain...unless you plan on grinding on your drive side, then get a 410/510 blah blah blah

whats size sprocket should i get if i get a 12T cog?
Do i need a crank puller to switch sprockets. Ive tried to chain my sporckets before but could get it off so i had to take it to the shop.

3/16" chains do not work well with micro-gearing, if at all. Just get a KMC 410H or a 510HX, and lose the motorcycle chain; it's not 1999 anymore.

It's not a big deal. It would be if you ran 45-16 before, but it just changes the ratio a little and lets you go faster. It's not even 3:1, which some people like.
