spokes pinging!

The spokes on my front wheel are making a hell of a lot of noise. My bike, DK General Lee 24", is not more than a couple of weeks old, could they have loosened up in that short amount of time? Rear wheel is giving me no problems.

Your wheel could just be loose. Tighten it down and see what happens.

I made sure it was nice and tight. I just noticed it was a bit out of true, guess I will have to get the old spoke wrench out and see if I can still remember how to true a rim.

Squeeze the spokes together and see how much they move.

They move when I squeeze them, about as much as the rears do. I can see where they have been rubbing the black off of one another. What would be causing the noise in the hub, if it is the hub?

This happened to me. If its the same thing. Some of the spoke nipples probably go into your rim. Just replace the spokes that need to be replaced, or take it to your lbs.

I got my sophisticated testing material out, a tennis ball, and snugged it up to the front hub. No more pinging. I assume from this high tec test that the spokes must have been loose and the tennis ball put tension back on them.

it's pretty common for spokes on new wheels to loosen up within a few weeks. just go to the shop you bought the bike at and tell them the wheels need to be tightened up. shouldn't be a problem.

its more than likely not the bearings, tighten the spokes EVENLY around the wheel do about 1/2 turn each with a spoke tool.

this is called "bedding in" when a new wheel is built its had little to no stress put on it, after a new wheel build ride it for a week or so, then tension the spokes again.

Could be the bearings. On my exgirlfriends bike the bearings in the rear hub blew up and while they were starting to go it would make a pinging sound that I was 100% sure of that it was the spokes. So I re-tensioned the wheel and the noise kept going and then a couple days later the wheel locked up.

Im expressin with my full capabilities,
And now Im livin in correctional facilities,
Cause some dont agree with how I do this.
I get straight, meditate like a buddhist
Im droppin flava, my behaviour is heriditery,
But my technique is very necessary.
Blame it on ice cube... because he says it gets funky
When you got a subject and a predacit.
Add it on a dope beat
And thatll make you think.
Some suckaz just tickle me pink
To my stomache. cause they dont flow like this one.
You know what? I wont hesitate to dis one
Or two before Im through.
So dont try to sing this!
Some drop science
While Im droppin english.
Even if yella
Makes it a-capella
I still express, yo, I dont smoke weed or a sess.
Cause its known to give a brother brain damage.
And brain damage on the mic dont manage
Nuthin
But makin a sucker and you equal.
Dont be another sequel...

Now, gettin back to the pg.
Thats program, and its easy.
Dre is back. newjacks, I mean hollow,
Expressin aint their subject
Because they like to follow
The words, the style, the trend,
The records I spin.
Again and again and again
Yo, you on the other end.
Whatch a brother playin dope rhymes with no help.
Theres no fessin and guessin
While Im expressin myself.
Its crazy to see people be
What society wants them to be. but not me!
Ruthless...
Is the way to go
They know.
Others say rhymes that fail
To be original.
Or they kill where the hiphop starts,
Forget about the ghetto
And rap for the pop charts.
Some musicians curse at home
But scared to use profanity
When up on the microphone.
Yeah, they want reality.
But you wont hear none.
They rather exaggerate, a little fiction.
Some say no to drugs and take a stand,
But after the show they go lookin for the dopeman.
Or they ban my group from the radio.
Hear nwa and say hell no!.
But you know it aint all about wealth.
As long as you make a note to...
