Good luck on getting that degree, with typing like that. And I really, really hate it when people call it an "extreme sport" or an "acton sport". It's stupid, consumerized BS from the media.

I'm with Beerman. It has always bugged me that people think that calling it 'Extreme' is in any way a good thing. People have been riding bikes for years and have been doing tricks on bikes for years. There is no way that me riding bmx makes me more extreme than Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, or Boris Becker. Those people are extreme in their respective sports. It makes no sense at all, other than to drum up a certain amount of 'cool' factor.
Really, doing sports on a bike is no more extreme than playing basketball. You start off with the basics, you practice regularly, you get better. It is true of any sport and I would believe that pro football players are almost as likely to get just as seriously injured as a lot of the bike riders could get. Way more than some of the other 'extreme' sports listed.
At the most, bmx is an alternative sport. It is an individual sport instead of a 'team' sport. For many - it isn't even a sport. It's just fun.

Apparently this school must have very lax standards in their English department as well.

Yeah, it's not a sport. Sorry pal, we're just riding bikes and having fun- what you see on tv- that's about 1% of what it's all about. You need athletes for a sport too, and bmx riders are far from that. Lazy bums.

Why are you even writing about "extreme sports"...
for something that has to be graded...
because all the books at the library are going to give you crappy facts and teach you nothing and your essay willl be really bad.

Come on now, not ALL bmxers are lazy.
... well, I mean, I know that I'm lazy ...
But, well....
Some rider out there has to be a workaholic.
errrrmmmm...
