How to fall right?

I was looking at an old thread about broken bones and it said noobs don't fall right. I've broken my wrists numerous times and even cracked my hip recently so I'm guessing I'm not falling right? How do you fall right?

Try looking at this:

You'll find out why you've broken your wrists.

A thread about road bikes?

Falling down is fun. Till you hit the ground.

Just roll and stuff. Normally it works out. Don't be afraid to ditch your bike and get it away from you.

That's pretty much it. Wrists and arms in particular get broken because people tense up and put their arms out to protect themselves. Unfortunately, it just means that those little bones get snapped.

Tuck and roll.

So do i.

Nothing beats the feeling of almost crashing, but saving yourself. It's a sure rush of adrenaline haha.

That's a STICKY in the Road Cycling forum :p . I think a lot of it could be condensed, but hey, I'm not in charge.

thats not what i meant. You should delete the post you put in this thread so no one else looks through it forever wondering about crashing.

Yeah! I was drifting in the street on my MTB, then went side-to-side of the street by sitting and leaning the bike left and right. I leaned too much, and slipped, but corrected myself! What a rush!

Always land with your arms first. Yeah, you'll probably break both your wrists, but at least your teef will be alright.

cnickgo 07-16-07 10:38 PM

Learning to not try and catch yourself with your arms but instead tuck them in and use your shoulders to protect your face, and most importantly wear a helmet. One important thing to note from the road cycling "how to fall" is the trampoline... having awareness of where you are in the air helps alot. I took a dive off over my bars last week that resulted in a rashed back instead of a broken neck b/c I kept myself rotating.
